I wanted to picture a creepy, dark and victorian room that has symbols of death all around there. I usually never do "indoor" manips but this time I wanted to give a bit different feeling than with my other works that are opened to the sky and light.
I imagined a woman, someone, who is probably a widow. She is not so clear in her mind anymore after the mysterius death of her husband and children, and in her almost ruined and abandoned mansion she has gathered together the remains of her relatives. It was somehow inspired by "Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell" by Susanna Clarke, I thought that the Lost-Hope would look like this. Strange. At first I hated that book for being so boring and "grey", but now it's probably one of the best books I've ever read. I suggest it to you all  And if you look close enough, you can see a portrait of a doll there. (; It's related to Lady Pole, one of the main characters in the book whose mind is imprisoned by a faerie king with thistle-down hair. She is forced to go to the balls that are held in Lost-Hope (faerie mansion) and whenever she tries to tell anyone about her misery, she starts speaking about something completely different. I imagined how horrible it can be. You want to tell someone really badly how awful something in your life is.. and you start talking about potatoes. So the doll is also "imprisoned" in the mirror as the last memory of this widow's children, she won't let them go and rest. If you twist your eyes a little and "erase" the woman from the picture, you can see the o__O emoticon. xD For me, black endless holes symbolize my greatest fears - getting lost or losing those who are dear to me. Grainy texture was added for a slight dusty and vintage look. It's actually very fun to make holes in the walls. Go try.
